I reached out to Andy at Britannia in early 2024 following our annual fire extinguisher service visit. For the third year in a row, we were left with warning labels plastered across our fire equipment, with no explanation as to why… until we received a corrective action invoice.
Andy understood my frustration immediately and put me in contact with his Operations Manager, Laura Hutt, who arranged a site visit and survey for a time that suited our busy school schedule.
The survey identified that we could reduce the number of extinguishers by installing P50s, and after calculating a 3-year payback period, we committed to installation during our summer break of 2024.
The installation was seamless, and we received a generous Scrappage Scheme discount for our existing extinguishers which meant we didn’t have to worry about storing or disposing our old units.
Britannia complied fully with our safeguarding and H&S procedures, providing enhanced DBS checks for the installers and complying with our site rules immaculately.
'I highly recommend Britannia and the P50 extinguishers, particularly in a school or college where the continued cost of ‘corrective action’ can have an impact on your reactive budget. '

Jordan was able to work around our summer lettings avoiding any impact on the normal running of the school. He communicated extremely well onsite and is a shining example of the 5* service we received from Britannia, from inquiry through to delivery and install.
The extinguishers look smart and are no more intrusive than the conventional type. We were given a full demonstration on how to complete the annual checks, and it is simple enough for a member of any estates team to complete.
I highly recommend Britannia and the P50 extinguishers, particularly in a school or college where the continued cost of ‘corrective action’ can have an impact on your reactive budget.
